Our Motto
DEVOTE YOUR TODAY FOR BRIGHT TOMORROW

OUR COLLEGE:
“Asato ma Sadgamaya,
Tamaso ma Jyotirgamaya”
( From ignorance, lead me to truth; From darkness, lead me to light )

Rangsina college is only government co-education institution situated in Cherimokam village near Donkamokam town of West Karbi Anglong district of Assam. The geographical location of the college is Lattitude : 25.55344 degree and Longtitude : 92.41265 degree surrounded by the hilly green nature. District headquarter Hamren is about 22 Km far to South-West from this institution. The nearest raiway station Hojai is about 25 Km, the nearest highway NH-27 is about 32 Km and the nearest airport Lokpriya Gopinath Bardoloi Airport, Guwahati is about 180 Km far from this place.
The journey of Rangsina College ( previously Rangsina Junior College) was started during the Eighties of the last century (23rd Nov, 1983). Educationist and founder principal Dr Phukan Chandra Phangcho’s initiations extended the institution an undergraduate college. However, it took a long walk of thirty decades to get the government degree college status. In spite of socio-political bottlenecks and frequent disturbances in the region today’s Rangsina College stands unison with the economically and educationally backward indigenous Karbi tribes of Karbi Anglong (presently West Karbi Anglong) district. The life of the Bhumi-Putra’s was never so easy in this beautiful ‘New Zeland of East’ for a long time. Perhaps this is also one of the reason behind the slow but steady walks of Rangsina College.
As “where there is a will there is a way”- inspite of the resource limitations Rangsina College could continuously upgrade its standard with the present day needs. This could be possible only because of heartiest co-operation of the people of the surrounding areas and development schemes on higher education sector initiated by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council. For this reason starting with a handful of students the college has surpassed 600 plus enrolments.
Upto 1994, the academic activities of the college was regulated by Gauhati University . Rangsina College was adopted under Assam University, Silchar with the colleges of other three Hills districts of Assam – N.C.Hills, Karimganj and Hilakandi. Since then the college has been following its curriculum and guidelines.Since then, Rangsina College has achieved an amazing growth to get the affiliation from the University during the session 2003-2004 and concurrence from the Govt. of Assam during the year 2005.
The College got permission to open the Honours Course in Economics and History during the session 2008-09 and in the same session university granted temporary affiliation up to T.D.C Part-III to Rangsina College. Subsequently, in the later years the college started Honours courses in subjects Education, Political Science and Assamese.
Rangsina College qualified for provincialisation by the Government of Assam in 2013 by Act. The college could once again availed the benefit of provincialisation of posts dropped earlier in 2020.
It is not a easy journey for all the staffs to advance with a newly provincialised college .Further, communication hinderance between Donkamokam and Silchar, large scale dropout of students for financial problem are added hurdles. However the college is optimist about eradicating the obstacles by the use of present day communication means like ICT.
